Feist collection of Humboldt-Universität
Hi Lucy, Patrick did revoke his deletion request. I'd like to create one or two templates for categorising and licensing of the uploaded files. The meta pages like https://rs.cms.hu-berlin.de/ikb_mediathek/pages/view.php?ref=4649 read "CC BY SA", that's fine. But it would be better if a version # of the license were given as well. Could you try to find it out, please? There's of course no need to add it explicitly to all pages of the base https://rs.cms.hu-berlin.de/ikb_mediathek/pages/search.php?search=%21collection5343, but I think it would be a good idea adding that to the template on Commons to avoid someone will be asking. See 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 4.0 (don't ask me for the differences in detail). Cheers, --Achim (Diskussion) 21:08, 7. Jan. 2020 (CET)
- I made up c:Category:Feist collection of photographs. The three images I put there might serve as an example for the use of the templates c:Template:Feist-collection-CC and c:Template:Feist-collection-ID. All the best, --Achim (Diskussion) 23:16, 7. Jan. 2020 (CET)
- Hi Achim! That's really helpful - I don't have much experience with templates so it's great to see how you've put that together. We'll plan for the students to move the remaining images to the new category and implement the templates over the next weeks. I'll follow up with our collaborator at the HU to pin them down on a license version. I'll encourage them to improve the documentation on their own site also :) Thanks! --Lucy Patterson (WMDE) (Diskussion) 18:36, 10. Jan. 2020 (CET)
- Hi Lucy, I can't see which way your trainees do perform their uploads. Worth a try are Vicuña and Pattypan. I use to use Vicuña if there are more than just a few uploads. However, both of them are Java programs and thus require the installation of the Java runtime engine (not to be confused with JavaScript).
