Vectorcam (spelling vectorcam) is a CAD and CAM software from the manufacturer of the same name Vectorcam GmbH. The company's headquarter is in Paderborn.
History
Vectorcam GmbH was founded in 1989 (under the name Centriforce GmbH) in the Netherlands. In 1993 the sister company in Germany was added, which was renamed "Vectorcam" in 2011. Vectorcam is headquartered in the Paderborn Technology Park. Paderborn is the starting point of their activities, including their own training center. The software is sold worldwide with the help of international distributors.
Software
Vectorcam is a 2D / 3D NC programming system. Operation was made as simple as possible. The software has a modular structure and is divided into the following modules:
- Milling
- Drilling
- Turning/Millturning
- CNC Laser
- Cutting (Wasserstrahl-, Plasma-, Brennschneiden)
- Wire EDM
- Machine simulation.
vectorcam supports machines up to 5 axes. Both 2D geometries and complex 3D model data can be programmed. To support modern computer technologies, the software vectorcam is under continuous developement. Additionally, post processors for all common machining controls can be put into operation.
Application
The areas of application of the NC software are mainly mechanical engineering, tool making and metalworking. But Vectorcam can also be used in plastics processing and wood construction.
