Heraldiskais apraksts Apes novada ģerbonim 2017.g.
“Zilā laukā sudraba šaurpālis, uz tā vidū sarkans vairodziņš ar sudraba siju valsts karoga krāsu samēros; abās malās četri pāļa virzienā pa divi likti sudraba astoņlapu ziedi.”
Ģerbonis ir izstrādāts, ņemot par pamatu 1938. gadā veidotai Apes pilsētas ģerboni, kurā iekļauti četri sudraba astoņlapu ziedi – tie ir mūsu novada pagasti: Ape, Gaujiena, Trapene un Vireši.
