This Page is listing all Interwiki-Link-Checker Advertisments
Feel free to change it !
As you know if you have found this page, there is a lot of work to be done using the Interwiki-Link-Checker. So in order to get things going on as well as they did for the last six months (Remember: >100.000 Interlanguage Links were set!), we need to find new collaborators!
So everybody is wholeheartedly welcome in translating and more importantly posting advertisements for the IWLC at the appropriate places in Wikis, mailinglists, IRC channels, or other places in languages they know. For documentation purposes, and as a template, the full text, location and time of the advertisements done so far are listed. All texts are written in English (or at least something resembling English), this is of course not the best way to handle internationalisation affairs ;-). It would be nice if people would document their efforts in the appropriate subsection of this page.
Thanks alot and Dankeschön in advance!

Interlanguage Links - The Interwiki-Link-Checker
It seems that a lot of people from different Wikipedias are reading this list, and my post is about internationalisation of Wikipedia, so I decided I will try to bring a certain tool to your attention. It’s the Interwiki-Link-Checker
(http://tools.wikimedia.de/~flacus/IWLC/index.html) by de:user:Flacus, a
brilliant tool which has facilitated the generation of >100.000
Interlanguage-Links within the last six month.
As you might know, there are still lots of articles in one Wikipedia which have the same name as articles in aWikipedia of another language, but are *not* linked by an Interlanguage-Link (e.g. en-de: ~6300 articles, sv-fr: ~2300 articles and nl-pl ~1400 articles, as of the dumps from February 2006).
This articles have been listed for a lot of language combinations by de:user:SirJective. But not all articles with identical names are about the same subject, so human work is needed to decide whether an Interwiki-Link can be automatically inserted by a bot. In order to make this decision easy and comfortable, there is a brilliant tool called Interwiki-Link-Checker written by de:Benutzer:Flacus.
You might want to check the FAQ at http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:Flacus/Wikipedia_Interwiki-Link-Checker/en or just try it at http://tools.wikimedia.de/~flacus/IWLC/index.html Thanks for your time and (maybe even) help, I can just invite you to try the tool, it's fun and you're reading (and editing) quite a lot of stuff you wouldn't stumble upon otherwise.
If you do like the tool and want to spread the word, visit http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:Flacus/Wikipedia_Interwiki-Link-Checker/Propaganda, help and new ideas are welcome.
Cheers, de:Benutzer:Mdangers --Mdangers 15:59, 10. Mär 2006 (CET)

Interwiki-Link-Checker
First of all, excuse me for not writing in dansk, especially since my post is about internationalization :-)
There are lots of articles in da:Wikipedia which have the same name as articles in other Wikipedias, but are not linked by an Inter-Wiki-Link (e.g. da-en: ~600 articles, da-sv: ~1100 articles, as of last month).
These articles have been listed for many language combinations by de:Benutzer:SirJective. But not all articles with identical names are about the same subject, so human work is needed to decide whether an Interwiki-Link can be automatically generated by a bot. You might want to check the FAQ (english) or just try it at http://tools.wikimedia.de/~flacus/IWLC/index.html (english).
A translation of the FAQ and the graphical user interface of the tool into danish needs to be done, too. Translations should go to: de:Benutzer:Flacus/Wikipedia_Interwiki-Link-Checker/da I’m not sure if this is the best place to put this suggestion, so if any of you would put this text into the right place, this would be great.
Thanks for your time and (maybe even) help, I can just invite you to try the tool, it's fun and you're reading (and editing) quite a lot of stuff you wouldn't stumble upon otherwise.

For example ~350 new article pairs da-de, ~550 pairs da-en and so on... It's worth mentioning that through the help of dozens of users from different Wikipedias more than 30.000 new Interwiki links have been established during the last 3 month. Brilliantly done, everybody! But now it's time to go back to work again ;-).
The Interwiki-Link-Checker is waiting, please notice that Javascript again has to be disabled (see FAQ). Everything in dansk, of course!
