Clare Goodwin, (* 2 April 1973 in Solihull, Birmingham) is a British Artist. She lives and works in Zurich.
Life and work
From 1993-1996 Goodwin studied BA painting at the Winchester School of Art, University of Southhampton and from 1996-1998 at the Royal College of Art London where she graduated with an MA in painting. She has lived and worked in Switzerland since 2000, first in Valais, and from 2001 in Zurich.
Goodwin is known for her hard-edge, reductive language, including painting, large-scale murals, collages, works on paper, object furniture and ceramics. Goodwins work straddles the line between abstraction and figuration. Her work is dominated by geometric elements such as lines, circles, curves and colour blocking while also incorporating narrative aspects into her non-representational language. In addition to her own artistic work, she is regularly active as an artist-curator. She is the initiator and co-founder of the Zurich based artist led space called StudioK3.
