„General duties of the Force. 44. It shall be the duty of all members of the Force−
(a) to preserve the peace and prevent and detect crime and other
infractions of the law;

(f) to collect and communicate to his superior officers intelligence
affecting the public peace or public security;
(g) to take all steps necessary to prevent the commission of
offences and public nuisances;
(h) to obey all lawful orders of his superior officers; and
(i) generally, to do and perform all the duties appertaining to the
office of a police officer or constable.“
