Kontor-Dis-Seite, Abschnitt Schreibwerkstatt/Neu-Wikipedianer – Pankokens Anmerkungen vom 10. März 2015
Guten Tag, Pankoken. Kann sein oder auch nicht, dass wir uns anläßlich der ersten beiden Sprechenstunden oder nach Kontor-Schlüssübergabe gesehen haben. Habe mich von Deinen Zweifeln angesprochen gefühlt und möchte vorzugsweise hier auf Deiner Seite etwas Solidarisches dazu sagen: Trotz sehr freundlichen Mutmachens und mehrmonatiger Hintergrund-Präsenz von Mentor UweRohwedder (siehe auch meine Vitavia-Seite vor Anfang Februar 2015) habe ich mich anfangs auf das heftigste "rumgeplagt", war oft hochgradig "verzagt" und mehrmals drauf und dran "aufzugeben". Allerdings ließ mich meine tiefsitzende Motivation letztendlich durchhalten, und ich werkele nun recht zufrieden auf stabilem Niveau vor mich hin (seit Januar auch bei Commons, insbesondere für die Bebilderung von Denkmallisten). Ein Kontakt zur Hamburger Community kommt für mich nicht infrage, da ich mich allein schon durch die interne Fachsprache überfordert fühle. Auch bin ich in einem fortgeschritteneren Alter und beruflich nicht ausreichend vorqualifiziert. Ich verfolge jedoch mit großer Bewunderung das von euch bereits Erreichte sowie die nahen und weitergefassten Pläne und Visionen!
Zu Deinen obigen empathisch-sympathischen Bedenken möchte ich anregen, eventuell über ein Paten- oder Tutor-Schnellballsystem nachzudenken, so wie ich es schon vor Jahrzehnten kennengelernt hatte, als wir in Klasse 5 und 6 eine Patin bzw. einen Paten aus der Mittelstufe hatten. So könnten sich möglicherweise 1 – 2 Neulinge und ein bereits etwas Fortgeschrittener aus den eigenen Reihen zusammentun und sich an Orten wie Bücherhallen-PC-Arbeitsplätzen bzw.-Bereichen mit Welan für mitgebrachte Laptops oder vielleicht sogar ganz Privat regelmäßig zusammensetzen und/oder sich zumindest telefonisch austauschen i. S. von "Geteiltes Leid …" Wünsche Dir weiterhin viel Energie und Freude bei Deinem Einsatz für Wikipedia! --Vitavia (Diskussion) 16:09, 13. Mär. 2015 (CET)
- Vielen Dank für deinen freundlichen Kommentar. Meiner Meinung nach ist eine Unterstützung für Neulinge bei der Sprechstunde mit nachfolgender Schreibwerkstatt und Mentorenprogramm eine gutangelegte Kombination und wohl auch hinreichend. Es gibt vermutlich zwei Probleme dabei. Einerseits ist der Prozess noch nicht ausreichend organisiert, jeder Teilnehmer der Sprechstunde wird zwar ermuntert, zur Öffnungszeit im Kontor weitere Hilfe zu suchen, aber wir führen das noch nicht genug. Aber das ist in Arbeit, die Teilnehmer müssen sich beim nächsten Mal nicht mehr mühsam die Öffnungszeiten und die Kontoradresse raussuchen. Andererseits geht das nur in den wenigen Orten mit Präsenzunterstützung wie Berlin, Hamburg und Köln, was Hannover und München dazu machen, kann ich nicht beurteilen. - Freebase is going read-only at the end of the month and we expect an influx of new people. There is now an FAQ to answer their most common questions.

- Lots of improvements around MixNMatch. It has a new catalog overview page. ~340K IDs have been matched so far with it and it now has an FAQ for institutions wanting to get their identifiers linked in Wikidata
