Obsolete dump, change request for fi.wiki

Hi, the project tor WikiCheck on fi.wiki has been down for a while, and I just returned to its page to find it hadn't been updated in nearly a year. Two things have changed since:

  • The dump for fi.wiki here hasn't for some reason updated since 7. March 2010.
  • DEAFULTSORT in fi.wiki is now called AAKKOSTUS and the script for fi.wiki dump should be updated to reflect this. However, there is NO need for the script to list pages where DEAFULTSORT is used instead of AAKKOSTUS (there are thousands, and switching just the code would be frowned upon as a purely cosmetic change).

Regards, Pitke (Diskussion) 14:07, 30. Mär. 2012 (CEST)

Hello Pitke, the last scanned dump of fiwiki has the date 2011-11-30. See here. At the moment we reorganise at the toolserver the folder with all dumps. Normally I start a new dumpscan every 100 days. fiwiki-dump is with 121 days not so old. :-) Maybe I can restart the scan at the weekend. The error 88,89,90,91 is no problem with AAKKOSTUS. See for example error 88. My script know this keyword from the fi.api. If you want deactivated an error the change the priority to 0 in the fi:Wikipedia:Wikiprojekti_Check_Wikipedia/Translation Translation-page. -- sk (Diskussion) 16:43, 30. Mär. 2012 (CEST)
That's odd, the dump still says March 2010... Has the dump source url changed? Pitke (Diskussion) 23:03, 31. Mär. 2012 (CEST)
The page http://toolserver.org/~sk/checkwiki/fiwiki/fiwiki_output_for_wikipedia.html is an old page. My script don't update this page. Therefor we have now http://toolserver.org/~sk/cw/fiwiki/index.htm. With the old version every day a user must copy this page to the local page. -- sk (Diskussion) 12:10, 1. Apr. 2012 (CEST)

Total amount of articles being recalculated every 15 minutes

Hey Stefan, I started editing some articles to remove some of the errors found by the CheckWiki, and then I realized I can't keep track of the amount of articles I've edited because your total is updated every 15 minutes.

Here's what happens: Supose you have a link to 3000 errors, ok? Now, I correct 10 pages and mark them as "Done", so your "done list" size is now 10, but your "total" size is still 3000. After 15 minutes your lists are updated, and now the "done list" size is 0 and the "total" size is 2990. I don't think you should change the total of pages with errors unless a new page was found (which means the total can only increase). I think you should only update the size of articles marked as "done".

This way, after those 15 minutes we would see the "total list" size as 3000, and the "done list" size as 10. If any new page is found with the same error, the new "total" size would be updated to 3001, but the "done" size would still be 10. Otherwise, what's the point of having the "done" list? It will be evaporated every 15 minutes, I don't see much purpose in such a fast living list =/

You can find my talk page at Tschis or directly answer by clicking here :} Thank you, in advance! Hugs from Brazil Tschis (Diskussion) 16:21, 30. Mär. 2012 (CEST)

My mistake. The list isn't cleared every 15 minutes, but it is cleared somehow. Yesterday I fixed 67 bugs on this list, today I fixed 1, but now there's only one page on the "done list". All the articles I fixed yesterday are gone. Tschis (Diskussion) 19:44, 30. Mär. 2012 (CEST)
Hello Tschis, at the toolserver a cronjob start every night for the update. I think 0:00 UTC. Maybe in your country is this time in the middle of the day. -- sk (Diskussion) 14:10, 31. Mär. 2012 (CEST)
This means I can only use the "done list" until midnight? Then this would be more useful only if there's a lot of people working on the same list, right? Tschis (Diskussion) 20:37, 3. Apr. 2012 (CEST)
If you set the whole list as "done", in the database will be set a flag. Then the next script run, the script will check this articles again. -- sk (Diskussion) 09:58, 4. Apr. 2012 (CEST)

Whitelisteinträge in Wikipedia:WikiProjekt Syntaxkorrektur/Übersetzung

Moinmoin…

Sorry, I don't speak German, but a little google translate helped understanding the conversation. I'm the developper of WikiCleaner. I indeed took the liberty to add some parameters to Check Wikipedia configuration that can be used by my own tool. They are documented at fr:Utilisateur:NicoV/WikiCleanerConfigurationDocumentation#Check_Wiki_configuration.
For example, for managing white lists, I have defined 2 parameters : whitelist where you can add all the titles of pages that should be in the whitelist, and more recently whitelistpage (frwiki) which only contains the title of a page with whitelist as internal links (easier for users to fill it, see for example whitelist for error 2 on frwiki).
Stefan, does this seem OK to you ? Could we work together on subjects like these so that both our tools work nicely together ? PS: I don't check dewiki very often, can you post a talkback at fr:Discussion Utilisateur:NicoV if you want to get in touch with me ? --NicoV (Diskussion) 23:04, 12. Apr. 2012 (CEST)

Translation page for Simple English Wikipedia

There doesn't seem to be a translation page for Simple English Wikipedia. How can I get one created? Thanks. --Auntof6 (Diskussion) 10:09, 30. Mär. 2012 (CEST)

You need a translation-page like all other project. See for example english translation. Create a basic page in simple and there a subpage like simple:Wikipedia:WikiProject_Check_Wikipedia/Translation. I will insert the page in the script here. Then every day the script scan this page and you can translate it and change it. -- sk (Diskussion) 16:25, 30. Mär. 2012 (CEST)
Thanks very much! I have created those two pages and will proceed from there. --Auntof6 (Diskussion) 10:37, 11. Apr. 2012 (CEST)
If interested, I have configured WPCleaner to use those pages on Simple English wiki. --NicoV (Diskussion) 22:51, 12. Apr. 2012 (CEST)
Just posting a reminder. simple:Wikipedia:WikiProject_Check_Wikipedia and simple:Wikipedia:WikiProject_Check_Wikipedia/Translation have been created but not added to the interface as of yet. Creol (Diskussion) 04:44, 22. Apr. 2012 (CEST)
