Hi, Dear Mr. Torstein, I've the Austrian newspaper "Arbeiterzeitung Vienna" - you can find it: http://www.arbeiter-zeitung.at/

On page 10 from March 4th, 1958, there is an article with the head line "Alois Leodolter bester Mitteleuropäer" ("Alois Leodolter the best of middle Europe"), and there is a little head line "Finnischer Triumph über 30km": It is written, that the 30km event was carried out on Saturday ("Bereits am Samstag hatten sich die Finnen den ersten Weltmeistertitel geholt. Der 25jährige Holzfäller Kalevi.." - maybe translated: "Already, on Saturday the Finns gained their first World Champion title. 25 years-old wood cutter Kalevi...").

I don't know if my source is correct - maybe "Arbeiterzeitung" was wrong? On the other hand the article in the "Arbeiterzeitung" let assume that the Combined was carried out on Sunday and/or Monday.
