Strange alkaloid found in this cacti.
I read on an old internet page that tested many cacti for alkaloids present that this one contains 4hydroxy,3nitro-pea, an alkaloid I’ve never seen in other cacti. Normal are 3,4-dimethoxy-pea and it’s n-methylated dimethylated and threefold methylated analogs. 4-hoydroxy-pea is almost in every cacti there is. And there are the beta hydroxylated versions of the aforementioned peas.
there are also rarely some isoquinolines present. For anyone who’s wants to take a look:
