I have contributed some additional material in German - in which I am shaky - to the article about ErdmannI von Promnitz. I hope someone will review the grammar and spelling. The point is that the visit by the young nobleman and his new musical director to the Hanaka region of Moravia had important musical significance. At the time, folk music was regarded as low and unsuited for presentation in educated and cultured circles. Yet Telemann was imbued with a new and more democratic spirit that characterized the Enlightenment period. He recognized the splendid musical material inherent in wild Polish bagpipers and fiddlers
