Career

Ferdinand Brandner studied at Vienna University. In April 1937 he joint Junkers Flugzeug- und Motorenwerke and became the responsible managing engineer for the Jumo 222 developement. In 1945 he was sent to Russia and continued aircraft engine developement for the Soviets. At the Experimental Factory No. 2 in Kuibyschew Brandner headed the OKB-2 developement department and designed a 12000 hpr aircraft engine here. In 1954 he returned to Austria.

During the early 60s Brandner supported the E-300 engine development in Egypt for Messerschmitt's Ha-300, before he became a technical director at BMW in Munich.‎ --Kyber 20:58, 14. Apr. 2006
