Bezugnehmend zur Pathologie: In der Literatur taucht Henry M. als Patient von William Scovílle auf, der 1953 an Henry M. eine Entfenrung der Hippocampi durchführte, welche speziell für das "explizite Erinnern" (= bewusster Erinnerungsvorgang) veranwortlich sind. Aufgrund dieses chirurgischen Eingriffes war Henry. M nicht mehr in der Lage, neue Inhalte im Gedächtnis zu integrieren (= anterograde Amnesie). Das Erinnern an seine Vergangenheit war ihm jedoch noch möglich (siehe auch Funktionelle Aspekte des Hippocampus).

Ja und ? Ich verstehe das Problem nicht. Ist da irgend ein Widerspruch?

Ein Teil dieses Artikels ("Plötzliche Geistesblitze sind Ursprung großartiger wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisse.") scheint von dieser Webseite zu stammen, welche wiederum als Quelle spiegel.de angibt. Könnte ein Moderator bitte mal bei diesem Artikel notieren, dass die Angaben nicht hinreichend belegt sind? Mir graust es bei manchen Aussagen im Artikel (z.B. "der inferiore Temporallappen ist Teil des Arbeitsgedächtnisses"). Unisono01 18:40, 10. Dez. 2011 (CET)

The Lobus temporalis consists of five gyri, not of six as in the current picture

In the current picture, six gyri of the Lobus temporalis are defined, i.e. 1. Gyrus temporalis superior, 2. Gyrus temporalis medius, 3. Gyrus temporalis inferior, 4. Gyrus occipitotemporalis lateralis, 5. Gyrus occipitotemporalis medialis, 6. Gyrus parahippocampalis. Various atlases recognize only five gyri from lateral to medial, with the Gyrus occipitotemporalis medialis as overarching name for the Gyrus parahippocampalis (in the Lobus temporalis) and the Gyrus lingualis (more or less in the Lobus occipitalis). Is it possible to correct this. I am aware that some older versions of the Sobotta atlas and some older versions of the Nomina Anatomica seem to imply that there are six gyri from lateral to medial in the Lobus temporalis, but more recent versions of the Sobotta (but I have to check my 1998 edition) corrected this mistake.
