Scott S. Sheppard

Scott Sander Sheppard (* 1977) ist ein Astronom am Institut für Astronomie an der University of Hawaii, wo er 2004 bei David C. Jewitt promoviert wurde. Sheppard erforscht insbesondere die Monde der äußeren Planeten des Sonnensystems und war an der Entdeckung vieler kleiner, lichtschwacher Monde von Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus und Neptun beteiligt.[1] 2005 wurde der Asteroid (17898) Scottsheppard nach ihm benannt.[2]
